Super Bowl XLVII: Ravens-49ers

So the matchup is set -- the Baltimore Ravens will play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. The game has plenty of storylines, one of the biggest being the head coaches for these two teams are brothers John and Jim Harbaugh. It will be a game of stingy defenses and electric offenses, with the 49ers running the read option and the Ravens with a deep vertical passing game set up by Ray Rice's runs (fuck Tampa Bay, Rice was the original Muscle Hamster before Doug Martin came along).

So who do you guys want to win? Who do you think will win?

I want the Ravens to win because I hate Randy Moss and never want him to get a ring, but I think the 49ers are just too good. 31-24 49ers is my prediction.

Also, it would be nice to see Ray Lewis retire with another championship under his belt. Yeah, he probably killed a guy, but I still like him more than Moss.

LHDanThis Super Bowl may be unbearable considering how much the Harbaugh brother story will be rammed down our throats.
Supharbaugh XLVII. So it begins...

How genius was the call to play Kaepernick for the balance of the season? He got a lot of heat for that call, but Kaepernick makes them a much more dangerous offense than with Alex Smith.

NINERS ALL DAY EVERYDAY!! I want the niners to win since I'm from the bay area, but its gonna be sad for ray lewis. At least he has one ring.

I think its gonna be a defensive game. So there shouldn't be too many points on the board. Should be like 20-16 niners

Super Bowl should be great; I'm excited.

niners > ravens

What I admire the most about the 49ers is their lame-out strategy. They limit their opponents offense, truck Frank Gore until he runs out of steam and then nail 40+ yard field goals. Thats how I would do it. Don't need to be flashy, just need more points on the board than your opponent after 4 qtrs.

Jim Harbaugh has been known to go with the hot hand so I'm not surprised. I am pleased with Kaepernick's development through the post season. 49ers would have still made the SB with Alex Smith at the helm. Smith had a 100+ passer rating in the regular season. In my opinion, the niners are where they are due to their secondary, offensive play calling and David Akers.

Dennis Pitta is a bum and the niners secondary should smother the deep ball. All signs point to Rice. Ray Rice is gonna feel like atlas for four quarters. I prefer the raven's pass rush, but running a 3:4 defense against a mobile qb is going to open up the flats for Vernon Davis.

Outside of a deep ball to Moss, I'm expecting a low scoring game that will go into overtime.

I'm excited to see a healthy Vernon Davis and cold as ice David Akers. Expect big things from them.

Also, fuck Ray Lewis. I realize he arranged for a plea bargain, but still, fuck that guy.

Akers has been terrible all year and might end up being the reason they lose this game. And shanking one from 38 this game didn't exactly help his confidence.

Don't forget Crabtree, he broke out when Kaepernick started. Akers needs to GTFO... he can only make field goals in the range of 18-36 yards, which means the niners need a franchise kicker. Definitely agree with you that its gonna be low scoring. Overtime maybe. I kinda agree with you that with Alex Smith the niners will make super bowl. Vernon is always healthy.......

Niners. They've secretly had a top-5 offense this season, along with their stellar D. Just hoping the game doesn't come down to Akers. Hate to say it, but they might be better off with Billy Cundiff.

Ravens will win this.

What makes me say this? Ravens defense is going to study niners to a tee and understand how they work. They were able to shut down the Pats without a problem and the niners will be next. Ravens defense can eliminate the niners running game and have speedy players to catch the likes of Kaepernick.

As far as niners defense goes, its solid as well however, I'm looking for Flacco to get some huge plays and look forward to they're running game as well. I think it'll be a good one and it'll come down to the 4th quarter, 4th and 2. Niners need a first down to kick the game winning field goal as they're just out of range, and who do you know???? "Ray Lewis" comes thru for his last play as a future-hall-of-famer with a crushing SACK.

Can't wait everyone!

designSo today's the big day...for everyone except the poor analysts working on the Dell deal.

I would kill myself / expect a saucy spot bonus for that.

Can't we all agree that the market should be closed the day after the SuperBowl? While we're at it, New Year's day should be a work day and Jan. 2nd should be a market close. Doesn't anybody in the world plan? It's like people pretend alcohol doesn't exist.

I feel for those Dell deal guys and probably a lot of people at Dell as well.

I just feel like Colin Kaep is gonna suck/underperform today. 24-20 49ers

He just threw a bad pick. He did the same thing against Green Bay though and bounced back well from that. We'll see what happens next...
