Tech Sales vs IB Salary Progression

Anyone know the salary progression of a Mid Tier Software SalesMan I.E not a rainmaker just a man who meet his OTE but doesn’t exceed it.

Ik SDR and BDR salaries start at $100k - $130k but what do they progress to after 3 - 5 years and becoming AE/AM

Depends on what you're selling. The more complex the tech, the more $$$ you'll make.

You want to sell Enterprise Software that's business-critical, there might not even be an SMB option if it's actually business-critical. No matter what you do, don't sell anything to HR or other sales teams. I'm talking hardcore backend infrastructure that's so complex most people have no idea what you sell.

It'll just be Majors/Mid-Market or Enterprise (F500).

MM: 150-175k +

Enterprise: 200k +

I've not seen many SDR or BDR salaries start at 100-130. Maybe OTE hits that.

Currently selling at Snowflake/Databricks and can confidently say that the deals can be massive at the enterprise level. Yes, the more business-critical, complex or value add the product has the bigger the deals.

Ex: Selling data cloud infrastructure to F500 companies that have terabytes/petabytes amounts of data stored that need to be analyzed (data sharing, ML models, AI etc...) is going to be influencing the entire company. Since every company needs data insights today to make business decisions in some capacity.

I haven’t seen any SDR/BDR roles paying even $100k salary, it’s typically more like $60k-70k base with all in around $90k-$100k. The base you’re thinking of is definitely for AE level positions.
