I never realized what skill my father had until my initial attempts at a flawless handwritten note, written without effort and visually appealing in style of handwriting/cursive and choice of pen used.
For years my Aunt wrote to me in such grace and care, always handwritten. It definitely made an impression. I didn't know it then, but I remember opening each letter from her.
Then was the one man who changed my perspective on handwritten notes. He was a three star Admiral in the Navy. He wrote me a three page handwritten note when I was 21 about the intricacies of our discussion and snail mailed it to me. Who does that? You could tell he was down to earth, but I didn't think he would even remember my name. We just met that day and had a bite to eat for 30 minutes or so. The thing about his letter was that it was so pertinent.
So what is a handwritten letter to you? Do you write them?
What is your method? MS Word then write, or just freestyle, or both depending on importance of letter?
