I liked True Grit also, but if I had to choose, I'd go with The Fighter. Had an easier time identifying with the characters and I thought the characters in general were just more developed/intriguing than the ones in True Grit. Both great movies, though.
...the fighter, IMO, was blue collar workers of the world unite to see who can beat the shit out of each other the most. 10 sisters on welfare fighting with the girlfriend like an episode of Jerry Springer, the mom screeching "what about your brother Dicky?????", bale jumping out of a crack-house window. Yes, like everyone else, I like Bale, but I laughed afterward over why I thought it was a good idea to give another mark wahlberg movie a chance.

Bill Simmons had a good write up on it too...
Christian Bale is amazing in that, the accent is absolutely flawless. Definitely one of my favorites this year.

I thought True Grit was better
Props to Christian Bale. He was excellent.

Lowell looks like a shithole. Simmons' write-up was great. I'd rather die than marry one of the sisters.
Great movie, I liked True Grit a lot also. I would see them both again. Can anyone speak about TRON at all? Wondering if I should go see it...

Heard Tron was entertaining, but overall, a pretty sh*t movie.
Lowell is pretty bad. I think the next step is Revere, and then a post-apocalyptic movie in Chelsea.
Dorchester and Roxbury can be just as bad.
But the fighter was well done. I was pumped to see it end BEFORE the big 3 fights with Gatti... most people know Ward for those fights only...
Ship C.Bale the best supporting actor award already.
If you like Christian Bale, you HAVE got to see Harsh Times...he's fantastic
Watch tron just for the visuals and DAFT PUNK. otherwise, a shit movie.
