The House of Cards has collapsed

As a huge fan of House of Cards, I was extremely disappointed and disgusted to hear about Kevin Spacey's behavior and extensive sexual harassment. I pretty much only watched the show because I liked his character so much. Can you ever really separate the art from the artist? House of Cards is widely viewed as Netflix first "real" self-produced series; how much do you fellow monkeys think that this will negatively affect Netflix? And ultimately, just how rampant is sexual harassment in Hollywood as a whole?

  1. While House of Cards may have been its first, Netflix has a ton of good shows now. Peaky Blinders, Stranger Things, Black Mirror, Narcos, The Crown, Mindhunters, Alias Grace, etc. That lineup beats HBO even and I love Game of Thrones more than most. Netflix will be fine.

  2. The West Wing was always, and will always be, better than House of Cards

Very, very true. They redeemed it on the last season, but it was a bit of lazy writing to give Santos the Presidency.

Yeah this shit has been going on for aeons.

I like how these female actresses stand up against harassment after they make their millions from the job they got bc they did 'what it takes.'

Yeah it shouldn't happen, but you rarely see ugly women/guys in positions with talent.

Also society is quick to lambaste someone over a claim as judge jury and executioner like some sort of armchair sexpert.

Doesn't matter, occupy wall street, blm, sexual harrasmenr, all this shit is cyclical. Just be ready for the economic collapse of 2018.

If the glove don't fit, you must acquit!

I would feel worse about House of Cards ending if the last season wasn't horrendous excrement. The one thing I wish people talked about more, is that cancelling projects with creeps in them hurt far more than just that one individuals but hundreds of other actors/administrators/support staff.

Of course, Netflix had to end it but it should be noted that cancelling this project probably hurt Spacey the least out of all the workers on that project.

They should just do something similar to what White Collar did and have 6 episodes in the final season. The ending of White Collar was more than satisfactory and if HoC could pull it off it would be a win-win.

"Going Concern" Oh you're talking about the Netflix show... thought the thread was referring to the Trump administration

hilarious
