The new war on terror
It appears that Obama has turned up the faucet on the war on terror.
According to the article, http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/15/world/15shadoww… the CIA is killing people who are suspected of terrorism in a dozen different countries. While I expected Obama to guide the military and CIA into a smarter, much tougher and cheaper anti-terror campaign than his predecessor.
So what do you think? I am in my existential period prior to the beginning of the semester and I will wade into this. I am rather confidant that this gritty approach will spell the end of the global terror. Even with this success I will look askance at anyone who feels that the President should be able to kill whomever he wants in country he wants.

This isn't much to do about wall street. but then again CNBC sometimes has nothing to do with business... I think it's more dangerous that congress has less oversight into the war (not that they are too good at winning wars - i'll let history fill in the rest of this parenthetical: _______) Yet, this is how wars are sometimes won. We learn in history class that america being the biggest bad asses won the revolution not by showing up in a field against the british army but by hiding behind trees and using spies around the colonies picking off officers on horseback. Now that we are the new british empire we're standing around in uniforms with big US flags waiting to be picked off by IED's.. I think we are going to start using a smarter war-plan and really be more effective. This radical way of thought is a cancer and using those two white-house terms you dont fight cancer with a "hammer" you use a "scaple" to extract what you need to and let the middle-east thrive. thats what i think... now im going to go find a job for post-grad...
so the war on terror is turning into a small and concentrated effort on al-queda and the guys who really try to attack america...instead of a traditional invasion/occupation war against two countries that had nothing to do with 9/11.
this is why i voted obama over mccain.
I have mixed feelings about this. Obama is basically continuing Bush style efforts. I support the war on terror, but there will be unintended consequences. The NYT article talks about recent attacks in Oman and how one of them went completely wrong with a lot of blow back. Mixed feelings about this one.
