As much as everyone wants their dream job/girlfriend/college, it's hard to go through life without hearing time and time again the excuses people give for why they don't have what they want. Life is hard, but every hour you spend bitching about it is an hour you could have spent improving it. Whether it's sending networking emails, reading a difficult book (there was an awesome list on WSO of great finance books over on the right-hand side not too long ago), learning a new skill, or improving your physical fitness, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from spending 100% of your free time in ways that will make your life better. Remember, if you make your life 1% better every day, a year from now you'll be at 37x where you were before. If you don't, you'll just stay in the same place you are now. Just thought I'd share that thought.

But the math is off. 1*(1.01)^365= 37.7834 times better, which actually rounds to 38. Why be 37 times better when you can be 38?
