If you're not over 6ft, your days on Tinder are numbered. With the upcoming release of iOS 11, there's a lot of talk on Apple's ARKit as a standard feature as part of the OS. It got me wondering about functional uses of this feature. I can see the potential in Tinder developing a feature to allow guys and gals get an AR snapshot that returns a lifelike representation of what a person actually looks like.
What uses can you see for this and anyone out there think this will be breakthrough technology?

There will be some cool "tutorial" videos and features released I bet. This is obviously really, really simple, but changing a light bulb or something. Something where all you need to do is calibrate where things are in 3D space and then the program can size accordingly to show you what to do.
Yeah, exactly. It's just a cool feature, I think, to complement daily life like the smartphone does just in general.
I think it could do a lot for professionals, especially in the trades. Imagine an apprentice plumber installing a sink - the sink would come with the AR feature that would literally lay the step by step directions on top of the counter top. All you need to do is put a little icon or something on the sink that is temporary so that the features can get a sense for space and size and you can go through a step by step installation where it shows a video or picture of where the new piece should go. Imagine how many things can be installed this way.
Furthering your thought, combine AR with widespread use of 3-D printing, online vendors, and local wholesalers. The mom and pop moves into the home and the customers online. Some won't need jobs anymore, the barter system makes a quasi-return. This is a very necessary tool in a ubiquitous online society.
