My girlfriend is from Europe and asked me to visit her family between Christmas and New Year's. I assumed that this was probably not feasible, but do others have different experiences?
More broadly - is it possible to get away for a weekend (with your work computer), visit your college buddies, etc. as a first year? How easy/common is this?
