U4 Concern

Hi,

i have a U4 concern and have a few questions in regard to it.

thank you upfront to everyone!

1) just curious, do you know anyone who actually got denied? What happens then?

2) i had a lot of jobs and forgot where i worked and at what time, will this be an issue?

3) i went to a private 4 year, then community college then a 4 year state. Do i list all of them? Will it look weird?

thank you!

1. No unless you have like a murder charge you are hiding. If have issues they come back to you for explanation or further items

2. you will have to show all paid jobs... tax forms should be fine as proof. Unpaid internships don't worry about. If these were various retail jobs you do need to track these down which is unfortunately a hassle

3. yes list all of them. It's a third party checking this, they do not give a shit about it looking weird they just verify that you eventually got the degree you said you did

My form said only paid jobs. My firm called to verify something on my resume that hadn't been on the background check and I said it was unpaid and they stopped there. There's also no way to verify it from the legal end given no W-2 out there

of course don't lie about anything, they may try to track it down - but generally don't need to worry about these

Thanks! By form I assume you mean u4 from finra right? Thanks for the tip - I did a few unpaid internships (dumb I know haha) but I don't even have them on my resume and hence I left them off my background check too, but just want to avoid trouble!

Did the verification process (by your company) occur during background check or at what stage?

I graduated a long time ago but I think it was the background check and then I separately left them off the U4. Verification was during background check and it was 1 email just to make sure it wasn't a real job.

if they're not on your resume they are fine - they really won't find then. they pull a credit check and a criminal check, they are not looking through your old internship's security cameras or through your personal emails. You're good to be thorough but this is seriously not a big deal
