UBS “CEO-IN-WAITING” had affair with Subordinates Wife

Robert Karofsky took a leave of absence this week after being accused by one of his subordinates — who happens to be one of closest friends — of having an affair with his wife, sources inside the bank tell The Post.”

The only person capable of closing the deal at UBS, is no longer even within the IB

You always hear UBS is struggling to win mandates in the U.S. Turns out they’ve just been focusing on a different kind of relationship building. UBS finally figured out how to generate deal flow. Unfortunately it’s all internal.

Honestly might be the first instance of someone at UBS actually generating repeat “client” engagement.

At a bank where nothing seems to close, this guy said fine I’ll handle it myself. No approvals, no committees, no risk. Just pure execution.

Imagine the town hall:

“We take culture very seriously.”

“We also ask that employees refrain from hostile takeovers of each other’s households.”

HR probably scrambling to figure out if this falls under compliance or just… alpha generation.

Honestly kind of refreshing. First senior leader in years to show any ability to actually finish something.

At least one thing is consistent across the platform:

Deals may not be closing, but something definitely is.
