What's everyone's thoughts on what happened at UC Davis?
As much as I disagree with the Occupy movements (though a few of their demands are on point), this is nuts.
The students were participating in a peaceful sit in when a rent-a-cop went on a power trip and pepper sprayed the shit out of everyone. It went as far as the university police holding open the mouths of protesters to spray down their throats when the protesters covered their faces with clothing.
WTF; last time I checked we weren't living in a police state. Injustice is injustice. I think we can all agree this is a bit extreme especially for a country that prides itself on the concept of free speech. I'm hoping some people lose their jobs over this, if not this sets a dangerous precedent.

Mad props to the protesters who hung in there. I got gassed once a year in the Marines, and that shit is no picnic.
LOL @ the fucking hippies. They should be thanking the cops. UC Davis is so far out in the boondocks that if there wasn't some kind of human rights violation, nobody would've even known they were there.

^ C'mon Eddie, as much as we disagree with the OWS people, this sort of stuff isn't funny. I actually found the video to be pretty depressing. I know America is much better than that.
This is just messed up. But there is a moment in the video in which the cops are getting backed up by hundreds of protesters who are recording their every move and I thought to myself: "Big Brother, meet Little Brother."
cops are NEVER on your side. do yourself a favor: get rich and get some personal bodyguards if you want security.
I've never had a huge issue with cops until I saw videos and read about some of the stuff they've done over the past several months. Whether you agree with the protestors or not, it is quite sad.
I wish people didn't just sit around and watch this stuff, but if they actually did something, they'd get totally screwed in court since cops can barely ever do wrong according to most courtrooms... that cop needs a beatdown
