Actually the student protesters were quite stubborn in not having obeyed the eviction order after several notification attempts from the authority (this is from a left-leaning individual). However, the pepper spray action was just plain cold-hearted and unnecessary, they could just have dragged the students away. In the end, heads will roll, chancellor and the 2 cops involved will have to go.
It's cops like this that will allow the OWS movement to proceed forward (unfortunately). This guy is an absolute clown and should be thrown in jail. Instead of letting the movement fizzle out, he just added fuel to the fire.
I can't believe someone that has been sprayed (I'm assuming the cop had to be sprayed at some point in order to be 'qualified to use it) would be so willing to light up some kids sitting on the ground. That shit hurts...a lot.
What did the students expect would happen?
Maybe to be handcuffed and taken to the police station? Certainly not to be pepper sprayed.. not even necessary.
i would've jacked the cop in the fucking face. that's called fucking assault.
