Upgrading Computer For Summer
Internship at BB has turned to all online for the shortened time and doing all I can to ensure FT offer. I'm running a Surface Pro 2 with two external monitors. Sometimes when running more than two large Excel models and talking on MS Teams it gets pretty slow at current gig and is definitely annoying when on a call with Senior and they ask to run another situation while on the call. Is it time/worth it to upgrade? They are paying us for the full 10 weeks and no NYC rent needed after all...
Sure why not? You can build a solid setup for a month of NYC rent.
Just got the new 13 inch MacBook Pro with 10th gen, 16 gb ram ($1799, $1699 with student discount). New keyboard design is awesome again. Really great computer if you’re looking for a Mac.
Sounds great for personal and school use, but I wouldn’t recommend using a Mac for an IB internship.
Echo the above intern regarding the work laptop. Get a lenovo or dell and stick with normal MS office shortcuts / nomenclature, you'll hate your life if you end up using excel models on a mac.. yikes
idk I think people forget that you can install Windows on a Mac super easily and for free. Then you can create a virtual "work" computer on your main machine. Allows you to invest a lot in one solid computer. Just an option, and very understandable if you'd rather have a real Windows laptop
