Use school email or personal email for work?
This sounds like a dumb question but should I continue to use my school email or personal email for work? Like on my resume and any communication from my company, which email should I use? Definitely for networking I’ll continue to use my school email so whoever I’m reaching out to can identify I’m also an alumni right away but what should I use for strictly communication with work?
I use my schools alumni email. I got it as a freshman. It was a good way to use an email that was from my school but also wouldn’t expire after graduation.
sometimes personal emails can get filtered out by spam so I just stick to the school one.
If your school pays to keep your email domain there is no harm in using your school email. It is especially more important if you went to a strong school with a large alumni base. Just having the email on your resume or for networking purposes can be very beneficial
This is a very good and pertinent point "just having the email on your resume or for networking purposes can be very beneficial". Definitely people only look at what email address you have listed and not the schools under your "Education" section.
In more experienced resumes education is sometimes at the bottom of the resume whereas the email is at the top. Doesn't hurt. Obviously education is on resume
