UVA vs UMICH vs NYU vs Georgetown ED/EA

I am a high schooler interested in a career in investment banking and subsequently a career in buy side. Which college would be the best in terms of expected career value? I am currently thinking of ED to UVA because I am a strongly competitive candidate, on the other hand, for the other schools I think they are more reaches besides maybe UMICH.

Thank you in advanced.

PS If I early decision or restrictive early action the probability from most likely chance of acceptance to least likely chance of acceptance goes: UVA -> UMICH -> NYU -> Georgetown, so do what you will with that information.

It will suck to hear this, but apply to what you like. I thought that I would be fine going anywhere, then I visited NYU this summer and hated it (I was going to ED2 it as well). I like georgetown best out of the options that you listed, but go where you'll be successful. If you're big on sports, then I'd strongly recommend Notre Dame- I think the recruiting is on par (if not better) than any of the other schools. I chose it over Gtown and UVA. Roughly 50% of our finance class goes into IB each year btw.

I honestly have no preference for school, besides maybe weather as well as culture. I honestly feel like fit isn't that much of a factor for me tho, prestige is definetly more important. I think I'll be able to find my group of people wherever I go but I would love to hear your opinion on this.

That's exactly what I thought too. Culture matters way more. If you're constantly surrounded by driven people that motivate and push you to be the best version of yourself, then you'll be 10x happier than if you found a few friends months in that you get to see a few times a week. Go where you'll be happy, and it is more than doable to get into IB from any of those places. Academically, expect to struggle everywhere. All the schools you're looking at are T30s, and the rigor will be tough. It won't be possible to get into IB if you're burnt out within 3 months because you're competing to apply for clubs, have very little to look forward to and enjoy and tank your GPA. If you're looking for outcome-oriented schools, look to see who publishes a first destination report. A good report should include employers, industries, job titles, and salaries. I'll attach a few at the bottom so you know what to look for.

Go to ASU. Football team isn’t half bad. Girls walk to class in bikini tops for 70% of the school year. Roof top pools at all the apartments. Easy classes and non hardo classmates. End of year on-campus rave hosted by DJ Diesel (Shaq). Student body that doesn’t mention Discord or Reddit 30 seconds into a conversation (i.e., social and normal kids). If you want to go wherever you’re most happy, then ASU can’t be beat. Don’t worry about not placing. I placed just fine. All my dad had to do was mention my name to a few MDs while golfing. Just have your dad do that too and you’re chilling. “NOn-tArgETs ArE sO hARd To reCRuiT Out oF” …LMAO! I literally didn’t have to apply, stop crying. Go. To. ASU.

Someone has to take the thrown after I graduate.

Discord and reddit had me dying.

ASU doesn't sound half bad but it's halfway across the country for me. Honestly you're right tho I don't like being around hardos and prefer being around more social people. Although I would consider myself a hardo, I still prefer to have non hardo friends.
