By an incoming LSE Econometrics and Mathematical Economics student.WSO is incredibly US-centric so I’ve created a more accurate list that takes in a truly global perspective. I don’t think Americans realize that the UK owned 25% of the entire world, yet they believe their country can compete with the UK internationally. Only one or two American unis can truly compare globally.
Welcome back BottomBucketHardo
Britbong and still has to admit to an American university being the most famous.
The fall of Britain is hilarious.
If Harvard isn’t #1 then it’d be too obvious that it’s a troll post. I say this as a Cambridge Maths student.
I think we all have a strong suspicion of who this is . . .
Buddy still smoking the poppy they stole from China. The UK isn’t relevant. You guys are work shy pricks. News flash, most Americans who go abroad consider UK academics to be jokes, you get paid like shit, and your regulatory environment and psychopathic addiction to bureaucracy is lamentable. The only people that find Oxford impressive are signet ring douchebags with circular family trees that spend their time running around failing to fix up the country estate that is unsustainable without bonded serfs to work the land. The best known thing to come out of Oxford is the comma. When you guys form the subcommittee on hiring for the subcommittee to determine the name of the research group that assesses the feasibility of putting a man on the moon, then you can talk.
Why did you use Oxford in your examples and not Cambridge?
Convenience. Everything I said applies for Cambridge too, they just have slightly more stem degrees
Shouldn't you be preparing for your degree instead of worrying about what people from the US think of universities in the UK?
No seriously think about it for a minute. How does your life change based on what a bunch of college kids trying to work at Goldman feel about Oxford or Cambridge?
The thing is that he’s attending LSE lol
He’s also trying to say this is what the world population thinks as a whole
Who is this joker trying to justify shit that doesn't matter. Let wso be what wso is, American focused. There's nothing to prove. Get your shit together. Whatever prestige ranking better not come from any one individual lol? That's the whole point of prestige, it's the collective view that matters. But even so why do you care that much. If you are in the UK, then you better quickly realize nobody cares about your school.
Cambridge and LSE are too high. Imperial too. You’re overestimating the UK’s relevance tbf
