Vacheron Constantin Overseas

Hey all - was thinking of getting a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Blue Dial, but I'm not that familiar with how VC authorized dealers work, are they like Rolex? Anything else I should keep in mind if I'm planning on getting one of these?

Great watch, blue dial is getting pretty popular lately. Not like getting a Rolex (so far haven’t seen any long waits, etc). In general of the “top three” (AP, Patek, VC although maybe 4 if you include ALS) VC tends to do worse in resale (if you care about that). But I would say one of the best values (at that level of pricing).

It doesn't hack, and the date wheel has a weirdly thin font. The lug-to-lug is also too long for my puny wrist. However, it's a fantastic watch (the dial, the interchangeable straps, the superbly finished bracelet with micro-adjustments) and I would absolutely love to own it some day.

Idk if you've tried one yet, but I'm seconding the sizing weirdness. I can normally wear up to 41mm but the lug-to-lug on the overseas is something else. Makes my GSs feel small. I thought the rubber strap might make it better, but it flared out so much that it barely fit under a jacket cuff. Resale value also isn't great compared to the rest of the trinity, but I've had great experiences with Richemont brands in terms of after-sales support (and they don't pull nearly as much artificial scarcity crap as some of the independents these days). If you can pull off the sizing, go for it. I'd take it over an RO if it would fit my wrist
