Vaynerchuk Destroys Morning Joe

If you're not familiar with Gary Vaynerchuk, you should be. Because he pretty much rules the Internet. He's the bestselling author of Crush It! and the just released The Thank You Economy, and he was on Morning Joe yesterday discussing the future of social media. More than once there was stunned silence on the set. This kid is so many moves ahead of the mainstream it's ridiculous. He went from working in his dad's liquor store to signing a 10-book deal with a $1 million advance and single-handedly re-wired the publishing industry. Listen to him: he's telling you what the next decade is going to be like for business. And if you have even an inkling that you might want to start a business at some point, read Crush It! today.

Nice post. Thanks for sharing that, Eddie.

Edmundo BravermanHe went from working in his dad's liquor store to signing a 10-book deal with a $1 million advance and single-handedly re-wired the publishing industry.

He didn't just run his dad's liquor store, he absolutely crushed it. The profits multiplied under him and the store eventually turned into Wine Library.

Will do.

These are actually pretty old news, stories I heard more than hundred times now at those so called Social Media sessions given by guest speakers from digital agencies like AKQA, R/GA. But no matter how many times I hear these gizmos pitch SNS, I'm like what is this POS. Probably becuz I don't understand half of what he saying. It's like listening to someone trying to explain what CDO, CMO, CLO is 10 years ago =)

Lunch is for wimps.

Pretty sweet interview, lol @ that woman. I think the biggest winner of the new tech wave will be the firm that manages to provide that kind of experience to both customers and suppliers. Groupon is a great idea as far as customer interaction, but they've done a very poor job of endearing the vendors issuing coupons and until someone figures out how to balance the two, you're not going to see the kind of consistent revenue that would justify current valuations.

Woah slow down there Eddie.

Vaynerchuk "pretty much rules the internet?" Hardly. He's telling us "what the next decade is going to be like for business?" Please, quit hanging off the guys nuts, enough people are doing that already.

It was a great interview, because he's an excellent speaker, promoter, and marketer. But he's not the all-knowing-all-seeing guru you're making him out to be.

10 to 1 this guy ends up being the new Ferriss - He blasts onto the scene with groundbreaking new material, and his sophomore effort is 100% hype.
