Vontae-ing

Pretty crazy to leave your team hanging the way Vontae Davis did last week by retiring from the Bills at halftime. So much so that it has taken sports media by storm and even got defined by urban dictionary:

Vontae-ing 1. The act of quitting halfway through a work day. 2. The act of retiring at halftime of an NFL game. Ex: "Hey man, I’m tired I’m vontae-ing this and be out!"

After listening to a segment on sports talk radio on the topic, I was wondering if any WSOs out there have good stories on times that vontae'd in real life?

I used to work in BO and the manager for my old team told me about the guy in his spot before he got there. He was apparently so overworked, not compensated for the level, and never listened to that he just disappeared one day. He managed 5 teams and about 60 employees across multiple states/countries. Nobody knew what happened but he just didn't show up one day and was never heard from again. No LinkedIn, no email messages, nothing. It was a 6-figure position too.

Edit: Oh, also there were no "managers" for any of the teams. There were team leads for each one but they were all analysts whose direction came from that manager. These teams handled all client information across the bank so if information was not correct, trades couldn't be booked on any of the systems those teams handled...
