Washington DC Neighborhood Recs

Hi all! Long time lurker here. Recently transitioned from finance and signed an offer for a job in Fort Meade, Maryland. Does anyone have recommendations for places to live around that area? I’m in my 20’s so am looking for a fun, urban neighborhood, but it sounds like the options are either living in the city and having a long commute or living in the suburbs which seem boring but will be closer to work. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Fort Meade = National Security Agency.

Live on Capitol Hill and commute. A 15-20 minute drive if there’s no traffic. If it’s rush hour or NSA shift change, it’s twice that.

You don’t want to live anywhere around Fort Meade.

Capitol Hill and Navy Yard both look great, thanks! Just hoping the traffic isn’t as bad as everyone says it is
