Watch as a graduate analyst?

I’m pretty into watches and was planning on getting one before. I don’t want to give off ‘daddy’s money’ vibes on my first day though, so I’ve decided against a Rolex and was thinking more on the lines of a tag Aquaracer or Tudor Black Bay 58. Are these fine or would wearing them as a grad look bad?

also  would a colour like this be appropriate?

I’m pretty into watches as well. I think anything from Tudor is safe. You could also get away with expensive pieces if they are understated. White gold Saxonia is not going to raise eyebrows unless someone is into watches, but don’t wear something super flashy like a gold dive watch. I personally wear a microbrand GMT diver. The principal at my shop wears a no date sub. I’m planning to get a grand seiko sometime. Tudors are great, too, love the BB36.

Great advice so far in this post. First and foremost buy what you like and don't worry about resale value etc. Both of those options are solid though. Tudor or Grand Seiko would be the way to go assuming you can afford them. Longines as well is a respected underrated brand in my opinion. I recently picked up a Cartier Ronde Must 36 from Watches of Switzerland and have been wearing it non stop. Its quartz and not automatic, but still hits hard.

I also own a Baltic Aquascaphe and love it. It's a modern dive watch designed by a French company to look vintage. Baltic is a microbrand which has been gaining a lot of traction in the last couple years.

I have worn an explorer daily for 5 years or so. Only twice has anyone said anything, and it was complimentary. Conversely, my ETA Blackbay used to get much more comments. Ultimately just wear what you want. Literally no one will notice
