We Americans don't party

It honestly upsets me this is the case. Our apres is more lame, outside of our trifecta of Miami LA NYC we don't really go out, our small and medium sized towns have a sports bar and that's about it.

Why do Europeans Asians and Latin Americans party more? Is it because we get it out of our system in college? Or the 21 drinking age which bifurcates the most likely to party from the rest?? European apres is something else...

I'm sorry. Did you not remember last week was St Paddy's day parades in places like Chicago or Dallas? I don't remember, if you catch my meaning.

There's plenty of more places that still party. And just to top up the fuel of my previous namesake:

Yes agreed. Having extensive experience partying in Europe, US, Asia it seems the nightlife is a bit lackluster in the US. Not saying it's non-existent, but it's just not as spectacular as elsewhere, and this is something Americans don't really realize until they go party in Europe with Europeans. It'll be 2am and they won't understand why they are still in a bar pre-gaming. Clubs are also more accessible and democratized vs the table culture VIP scene in the US.

Even LA's nightlife is quite tame and ends very early. Miami and NYC have good nightlife and come closer to Europe's level but are just a bit less hardcore than the latter (which isn't a bad thing tbh, Euros party too hard in my opinion. I can't keep up)

I think it has something to do with European vs American work culture. Americans work way harder and are more sensible with their nightlife whereas Euros work less, party, travel, and lounge around more. They have a slightly different attitude towards life.

NYC is a good balance imho ultimately you can find something nearly 24 hours a day eg Brooklyn warehouse parties. But the rest of the country is so lame in comparison. The other thing the US lacks is luxurious parties - the European apres or French Riviera or Ibiza/Mykonos scene is unmatched

Teens and young adults in the American south arguably party harder than anyone else. Any major university in the southeast United States is partying at least 5 days a week.

Yea so you think we get it out of our system early?

1) i think european cities are just way easier to move around in without cars (better bus systems, subway, people bike, etc) so that just makes it easier to walk to the bar and hop on the bus home.

2) find it so funny how people here will try to defend how “hard they party” like it hurts their self worth

It's kind of funny seeing how some people are combating OPs assertion.

I'm from a poor South Asian country (Nepal) and even in that poverty stricken, poor, environment we have clubs like LOD which absolutely have a more welcoming and crazy environment compared to anything outside of what you would find outside of Miami, NYC, and LA here.  Search up LOD Katmandu on google images, for such a poor country, it's a great scene, and its the first place, out of many, I hit up each time I go back to blow some stress away with the cousins.

I've traveled around the world, and while the states have good venues, there's something about North America that just feels lifeless to me.  Came and immigrated to the states for the economic opportunities, but socially, damn I feel alone af here, and that seeps into the nightlife/chill/hangout culture here.

Compared to Europe, its a no contest.  Enjoy going out so much, all over southern and eastern Europe, and even in places like Poland as well.  East Asian countries, and India can be absolutely wild if you know where to go.

Americans just don't party in the same way I'm guessing.  It's more of a sit around and drink type of scene.

Before I get the monkey shit, this is an anglo problem.  USA, CAN, AUS,NZ, and the UK all feel this way to me.  You guys have created the global system, and global culture, but your societies don't know how to have fun.  Hopefully I'll be proven wrong these coming years, otherwise I'll have to find another place to live after I hit my number.

Going to live up to my newish namesake. I get that where you come from is different (literally), but where I'm from? Toss the keg in the bed of the truck, find a field and everyone is invited and then party's out (if you need to do some research, watch Mcconaughe's famous "Hey hey hey!"). To the point where the cops just say "fuck it. No one's injured, no violence is going on. We're out" No one cared. If kids have fallen from this bastion? I will give you your due.

I'll give you that.  American house parties, Greek life, and in general the 'scene' between the ages of 16-22 is very enjoyable.  Might be more cultural differences than anything else, the way I grew up partying is more similar to the way Euros did, but I'm adjusting lol.
