WFH isn't ending for me.

Seems like my bank is going to continue doing an alternating WFH until 2021, I bet it could be later.. maybe May 2021.... Should I just go all out on a new apartment? I cant stand being shoved in my tiny apartment any more... Would that be a mistake? Right now there is nothing else to spend my money on.

Yeah get a sick pad in the boonies if you want.

might as well just rent a lake house someplace away from NYC for a year and get out of the city

You know, if I didn't re-up for a year back in January that might have been me.  I'm sick of this place, and I haven't been to the office since March.  I could easily rent a nice 3&2 on a lake in the Poconos for what I'm paying here with money to spare.  Unfortunately I'm a bit stuck with the lease, and the last I heard for the office reopening was in September, and that was back in May.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
