It's still a 1 BR.

Also, are you me? We have similar user names and avatars.

haha.

also $750,000 in Del Mar, CA will get you a POS 2 bedroom shack next to the ocean. You need some big bucks to get something nice (although it will still be small, that's just the way beachfront properties are) by the beach in socal aka ~$2million http://www.trulia.com/property/photos/40180423-152-7th-St-Del-Mar-CA-92…

So a man walks into a hotel bar in Texas and orders a beer.

The hostess brings him a barrel of beer. "My god what a huge beer!" "Well," the hostess responds, "Everything's bigger in Texas!"

He orders and the hostess brings him ten pound slab of ribs "My god what a huge piece of meat!" "Well," the hostess responds, "Everything's bigger in Texas!"

After eating and drinking, he really needs to take a dump so he asks the hostess where the bathroom is. "Third door down on the left" Quite inebriated he goes down the hall to the third door on the right and promptly falls into the hotel swimming pool. Thrashing wildly he screams, "Don't flush! Don't flush!"

That's my favorite Texas joke. The rest, of course, are all true stories.

CartwrightNo question you get more bang for you buck, but that's the deep burbs ( as I know Monte is aware) inside the loop or south of 635 in Dallas, 790k doesn't get you anything spectacular. Even in the woodlands 800k won't get you anything close to that. (relatively)

indeed it is spring which is 30 miles north of houston.. could find things in this price range closer but not as big

I don't know that I'd want to live in that house, looked garish to my taste. Besides, again, I don't know that I'd want to live in Texas. Happiness / comfort is so subjective too, it's completely personal. Some people find the city life very enticing, some find peace in a smaller city with suburbs/rural surrounding ... why do we get a daily barrage of NYC vs. Houston threads? Who cares? At the end of the day each person will go where they get the most money and they can live the happiest.

Whether that's NYC with all its shit or Houston with NRA nuts left and right, God only knows.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.
