Curious to hear about some of the smaller things you eventually hope to have/achieve in life. Could be both material or immaterial. For example, I would love to have my own winery to make a small family wine business. Also, I really want a pizza oven in my backyard one day to make some bomb pies.

Career Resources
Hitch hike all over the Western Hemisphere. Like from Philly to LA to the far north of Canada to the tip of Argentina and everything in between. I watched Into the Wild for the first time and it inspired me.
Winery and pizza oven in the backyard could be two of the biggest power moves ever. On the most simplistic level (which I fortunately think I have but hope to grow as I get older), having quality friends who will take a bullet for me (50% figuratively, 50% literally) and coming home to someone I love is all I really need. To me, experiences > material things. I guarantee on my deathbed I'll be thinking about that wild boy's trip to Thailand and not the ferrari I could've had (why not both?).
I continue to see how fake/superficial so many people are and hope I don't change myself for the benefit of random people. Having real ride or dies and a smart, hot wife with a personality who loves me can't be that bad!
Couldn't agree more here. I have two stones on my desk that represent my desire to achieve a meaningful a) love and family life and b) career. Might be difficult to achieve but I feel off-balance if things arent going well in both aspects. Having them on my desk is always a good reminder of what I'm working towards in life.

material: a full bar setup in an apartment where I can make nice drinks completely from scratch, syrups and all... still a student currently but planning to take some mixology classes once they can be in-person again, so excited for when I truly have my own place and can host people and make really nice drinks for everyone
immaterial: a wide and diverse circle of genuinely quality friendships - not necessarily something I have yet to obtain, but something I hope to grow and deepen in the next several years as I undergo a lot of other changes in my life (and while this in its entirety might not be a "smaller" thing, some of those individual friendships may not be essential to my life in any way but nevertheless exist as small yet meaningful value-adds overall).. it's this plus those few foundational relationships (significant other, close friend who's a true ride-or-die, etc.) that I think will really round out life in terms of fulfillment

in reality, the "small" things I want in life I already get from time to time. my happiest days are fall days on the beach after a nice surf, just chillin. with or without music/beers/other people, it's just pure bliss

I really want a slightly cheaper apt/townhouse in the city that’s not too far with a balcony/back porch to have a bbq smoker on, but everywhere is too expensive or shared or some other problem.
- Distancing gradually from bad friends, while reinforcing ties with the most loyal ones.
- Raising a big family.
- Completely disconnecting from everything during free time, for instance taking beers with friends and not mentioning anything related to politics, work, etc. Also staying away from the screens as much as possible (except on football match days and some Counter Strike from time to time lol).
- Taking the bike and going miles and miles away, coming back exhausted and eating a good BBQ-grilled steak.

I was just thinking about this. Just had an interview and he asked me what motivates me. Gave him a good answer but something crossed my mind. I want to be able to provide for my friends and family. If I want to go skiing with someone and they don't want to pay $100 for a ticket,I want to be able to cover for them. If I have friends over I want to be able to get a fat takeout order and cover it and not think twice. I want to be the one with a nice lakehouse and take everyone out on the boat and dick around for the day. Stuff like that.
Also, a part of me just hates working as it is. It's not like I hate my job, but usually, I'd rather be doing anything else. sometimes I get close to quitting and just want to be able to pay off my loans and then work in the garden section at home depot a few days a week and live in a shack and not have to worry about anything. I'd be more than happy skiing, biking, fishing, reading etc the rest of my life. I really don't get too much personal satisfaction or identity out of my career, and in a way I'm fine with that if it allows me to live the lifestyle I want to live. It's that constant battle of what my career self wants vs what I want and doing my best to meet myself somewhere in the middle
