what is the worst heartbreak you've ever had?

Being young and so attached to someone can lead to horrible things, and after having the longest and most satisfying relationship of my life end, I am only just starting to feel better after about a month. I want to hear your stories, because knowing you're not alone is the most reassuring thing of all.

I know a guy who bought his girlfriend tickets to some country music festival. She ended up hooking up with a bull rider while she was there. Poor guy was suicidal after that. It was easily the worst heartbreak I ever saw.

The rest of the ones I experienced or saw were nothing that couldn’t be fixed with some hard drinking around a campfire.

Not ashamed to admit my first significant breakup left me in a near suicidal spot. Don’t think I ever would’ve done it, but the thoughts were dark. I made it worse on myself because it was my fault, so I carried a lot of guilt. Young and dumb, broke up with her to chase other women, realized my mistake when it was too late. A classic story and it shaped me as a person, so I wouldn’t trade it. The relationship was bound to fail eventually anyways.

I do recall from that situation that I constantly wanted to do was talk about it, and yet, no one could say anything to ease the mental anguish. Time is the fixer but one of the best things you can do for yourself is to block the person from your life. Delete the number, the pictures, block the socials, and don’t check them. Because every time you remind yourself of that person, you’re adding to the time it will take to heal. Some of the reminders are unavoidable, but don’t make it harder on yourself.

I was a young college grad dating a girl in a new city. Was cheating, texting, etc girls from IG and Tinder.. thought I was cool af as I was finally making money and getting lots of DM/comments on the social medias. Then I had the genius idea to propose a one-way open relationship, ie. I can fuck other girls but she can’t fuck other dudes.. but it was supposed to only be for the summer (lol). She agreed.

Surprise surprise - she didn’t follow the rules and I got dumped for this big swole motherfucker. Boy I was down BAD for weeks. Then the girls I was entertaining on the side vanished like Houdini the second they found out I was officially single.

Turns out - she was cheating too. So bullet dodged and it all worked out in the end anyway.
