What Is Your Drink of Choice?
I just turned 21 and am about to start an internship. As I am moving from one phase of my life to another, I will now be needing to evolve my taste in alcohol.
My first legal purchase was Don Julio Blanco, but I'm looking for suggestions. What does everyone here drink?
Maker's Mark. 1800 Silver.
1800 silver is the best bang for your buck tequila wise. You can do a lot better than Maker's for whiskey.

Also just turned 21 and need to evolve my alcohol palate; my beer of choice on a casual day is Stella Artois, a good whiskey on a fat rock if I'm sitting down.

Scotch wise Lagavulin is rock solid, see if you like it.
Assuming even if you're on an IB salary your whiskey budget isn't too crazy yet. Here are some of my favorites for around $100 bottles or less.
Oban 14 Oban 18 (I prefer this over 14 but try 14 first to see if it's in your wheelhouse) Lagavulin 8 Lagavulin 16 (again, try 8 first). Laphroaig Ardbeg Glenfiddich Glenmorangie

Good: Makers Mark, Knob Creek Great: Macallan 12 year, Nikka or Yamazaki 12-18 year. Most 12-18 single malts. I have money flex: Old Rip Van Winkle, any Old & Rare (30 years +)
I worked as a bar tender in college and had the opportunity to try some very expensive hooch. For me personally there is a point of diminishing return, most people couldn't tell the difference between a $100-$200 bottle and a $2000+ bottle.

Recently I've become more fond of Diplomatico Ambassador Selection (rum).
But my go-to drink would probably be a plain screwdriver. I could drink those all day long, if it wasn't for the risk of getting absolutely hammered.

Keep it simple for the next couple years. You’re 21, you don’t want to be the guy drinking a martini.
A few classics to start with: G&T, rum and coke, whiskey sour, etc. As time goes on you can make these simple cocktails even better with better gin/whiskey/whatever.

An Old Fashioned has never failed me. Neither has Johnnie Walker Blue.
Bourbon: Woodford Reserve or Elijah Craig Beer: Local craft depending on where I am
Like any OG hardo, I only drink mint flavoured vodka and chocolate milk. It's like After Eight, but in liquid form.
Try get27 & Baileys then.
Beer: I'm a big fan of trying any local IPA's (though if its with work friends I usually stick to a lighter 6 to 8% IPA or else you get going a lot faster than your coworkers drinking lighters beers).
Mixed Drinks: Gin and Tonic, Rum and Coke (slowly sliding down my preference list), Whiskey Sour
Liquor: Scotch / Scotch Whiskey is the only thing I drink straight.
Don't listen to anyone on here who put "and coke". Coke is not a proper mixer, especially with whiskey.
Whiskey or scotch on the rocks. Currently into Angel's Envy.
Also drink a lot of red wine. Currently into Barolos and Barberas.
I'm a big Angel's Envy fan here... has a nice bite, yet it's still more smooth than not.
Rye for liquor, dark stouts for beer.
Allergic to beer so...cocktails all day long.

One part Hendrick's, one part tonic with lime or Glenlivet 12 year.
Hendricks's with Q Tonic is a go to.
30 rack of Busch Light.
