It seems to be “Pretend like the virus doesn’t exist and go back to normal life 100%” from what I can tell.

I’m back in the office but I’m the only one wearing a mask. I’d prefer to be home.

Yeah, at this point I’m almost resigned to get it eventually. Can’t leave for a new job either because hiring is paused.

I was being a little shit about wearing masks while on solo runs at the beginning of all of this but I can’t comprehend why people are being straight up combative about mask requirements nowadays. There is literally no downside to putting on a fucking mask indoors other than one’s own inconvenience and people STILL think that masks are worn for the purpose of protecting their own asses

This whole Covid thing is revealing a lot of character issues and I worry about society moving forward

I have read that if only 50% of people wore masks, the R value of the virus would dip below 1, meaning it would ultimately end. Instead, it is raging in the Southeast and states are hitting record highs.

It is so frustrating that we shut down our economy for months, and put tens of millions out of work, only for certain states to...do absolutely nothing productive during the shut down to combat the virus and then give up entirely. It is absolutely embarrassing to us as a nation.

We managed to end up with the worst of both worlds - economic damage and the virus spreading unchecked.
