What should freshmen do for internships during social distancing?
I'm a freshman at a "target" school and I had a summer internship lined up at a really wealth management firm. It got cancelled due to social distancing. Does anyone have any tips on what to do?
*sorry, meant to say really small wealth management firm
2 things that I would look into. 1. startups 2. doing research for a professor. I think both of these could give you some good talking points in interviews later. just realize you won't be providing a whole lot of resources so I would sell it as you will work for free and do the bottom bucket tasks.
Go volunteer/work for your local healthcare professionals.
Upskill yourself and work on a side hustle. Volunteer on the side. That's what I did the summer of my freshman year and still landed a BB IB Gig. Not all is lost :)
bump if anyone has any additional thoughts
