Division 1 Cross Country. I was bottom of the pack. I hated it and only did it for a semester. My father and grandfather played college football and I kind of wish I played college football too as a QB or WR. But, I was really focused on a lot of other stuff in college and sports in college take up a lot of time.
Swimming, teammates became friends for life, accomplished a lot, and a happy retirement
Basketball.. great team, great experience.
Baseball - due to the nature of the schedule between in season games and off season practices, you end up spending a lot of time together as a team. We treated the NCAA mandated maximum practice time as a mere suggestion. Some of the hardest laughs and most ridiculous situations of my life happened with those guys. But, the time demands didn't leave a whole lot of room for forming lasting relationships outside of the team. Honestly, had a great college experience and don't feel like I missed out on anything.
Proudest moments were bus rides back home after successful road weekends and getting drafted.
Squash since it really gives old money vibes
My brother got into USNA for a squash gig. He still plays with SOCOM execs.
Rowing. Really helps with interviews and a lot of rowers go into finance, but it's not something you can casually do on the weekend so it doesn't have any value now other than as a talking point.
Most gyms have rowing machines. You can still train.
