What to put on LinkedIn while not working

People of WSO

What does one put as their LinkedIn title after theoretically resigning or bein terminated?

Many thanks. Feels like I'm trying to fit a square peg in a circle hole at the moment

Entrepreneur.- if anyone asks just said you tried and failed. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Now you're looking to be a normie employee.

Could you still jump into the same/similar spot as you were previously in, or does this permanently knock you down a peg? Not just in terms of being behind where you were on the career path, but does this move you to a less desirable, parallel path?

Make your headline “Investment Banking Professional” or whatever you used to do. You’re still an IB professional even if not employed

Are you still a college student if you don’t take any classes during the summer between your freshmen and sophomore years? You’re not in class so you must not be a college student…

No

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

This is literally what everyone does. Your headline is not the same as your title at your current employer. I am not talking about putting a new position that says “IB professional”. Their profile shows that they have no job currently (they put an end date on their current job and don’t add anything else). But their headline says “UX/UI Programmer” because that’s their skill set / what they do / presumably he/she is still consulting or working on other programming projects

Also it’s odd to have you weighing in on stuff like this when you’ve been out of the business world for like 15 years. No surprise you don’t have anything meaningful to contribute other than “no”
