What was Peter Sullivan promoted to?

I was just rewatching Margin Call and there is a scene towards the end where Kevin Spacey's character asks the bank CEO if he is going to keep Peter Sullivan or fire him, the response to which is that he's getting promoted. What position do you think he was promoted to? It was established he is an associate and I think 28/29...they had just fired the CRO but I don't think he'd get that job. Margin Call was pretty realistic with firm positions, but was always curious about what they'd do with him.

Based on the WSO Dataset, it's not uncommon for individuals in the finance industry to be promoted from an Associate to a Vice President (VP) position, especially after demonstrating significant value to the firm or during critical situations. In the context of the movie "Margin Call," while it's not explicitly stated what position Peter Sullivan is promoted to, it's reasonable to infer that he could be promoted to a VP role or a similar level of seniority, considering his demonstrated analytical skills and the critical role he played in the events of the film.

However, it's unlikely he would be promoted directly to a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) position, as that typically requires more experience and a deeper understanding of risk management across the entire firm. The CRO role is usually filled by someone with many years of experience, often in senior management.
