What's the most interesting side quest you or somebody know has done?
I'm constantly amazed but how much people achieve, despite being in IB, PE, etc. On paper, you'd thinking working so many hours would take away from other aspects of life and, to be clear, it does. Yet people seem to start companies, run marathons, do iron mans, model at fashion shows, and pursue other interests.
What's the most interesting "side quest" you've heard about?
My friend and I signed up for a 50mi trail race. He won the race, I broke down at 47.6mi in the dark, freezing with no light, no water and my last SOS my iPhone was dying. I felt like I was dying. I SOSed the race director and took a DNF so close to the finish.
I had the bad shivers, I really thought I might die that day. I got lost and there was no one around.
Working internationally in a well paying multinational company for an extended time period, especially in countries you really wanted to live in. Hard to pull off though if you're not a strong performer and have senior support.
