What's your favorite billionaire "I'm Rich, Fuck You" items?

Found out Larry Ellison owns the sixth largest island in Hawaii. He paid $500 million for it in 2012. Making it the most expensive island ever sold.

Super yachts for billionaires and sports cars for millionaires. Both are depreciating assets, unless you're buying a 1 of 1 or a super rare model, and the upkeep, so you're really just losing money. The average cost to maintain a super yacht is something like $4.75 million so you really need to have "fuck you money".

I think all the shit Paul Allen did. Whereas Billy G poured all his focus on making money then his one or two foundation things, Paul just went around collecting the worlds largest superyachts with full recording studios, local NFL & NBA teams, starting hacker-type think tanks to solve the worlds problems, funding the largest plane in the world, made top notch museums to hold all the cool stuff he was interested in like vintage military aircraft and computers.

His super yacht had two helicopters, a submarine, an ROV, a swimming pool, a music studio and a basketball court. He lent it out for studying a rare fish off some remote island.

Funny thing is that most of Allens wealth went into real estate. The guy practically owns all of Seattle and parts of Bellevue. His real estate portfolio is where he put the majority of his wealth and he was probably one of the top 5 wealthiest guys in the country. You wouldn't have modern say Seattle without Allen.

I think staking yourself to win boat/car/sailing races comes far up on the list. Like Lawrence Stroll, the Canadian billionaire who bought a formula 1 team so that his son could be a driver...

I don't know... Yeah. Almost definitely yes.

You run for President saying you won't get a dime as salary then win.

Realistically, if you are a billionaire, buying an island is doable, easily. Do you want to really show off? Do something that not even other billionaires can do.

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

Elites in Latin American banana republics get up to some funny shit. Like blatantly using your mercenaries to rig an election for your brother and then having him appoint your son as the leader of the state-run oil company. You're pretty much untouchable if you can buy a country.
