Where do I take my MD to dinner?

Incoming SA here. MD who referred me asked me to catch up over dinner before I start in her team. I am to choose the restaurant. Should I take her to:

A) fancy place in an exclusive club (e.g. Union Club) right next to the office

B) decently nice place but slightly further away from the office

My thoughts are that A) would be nice but runs the risk of seeming like a massive flex (like wearing a Rolex into the office on day 1). B) would be more humble but may not be as impressive as A)

You are not going to "wow" an MD with flashiness as an incoming SA and even if you did I'm not sure that you'd be sending the right messages.

I don't live in NYC (for my sins, I'm in London), but surely there are tasteful, clean, and uncontroversial ("safe") restaurants where you can have a quiet conversation. Ideally not too far from the office.

Any decent sit down restaurant will do. Don't go to Mcdonalds or a bar (even this can be done depending on the place however), but choosing something that is around 20-40 for a meal tax+tip will do just fine.
