Where to spend your WFH allowance

With a lot of people on WFH for the past few months and a lot of us starting FT, what's been the best use of company expensed $$ on your WFH setup? People can spend a couple thousand dollars on a completely dialed-in workstation and can also probably get super cheap monitors, an Amazon prime keyboard/mouse/chair, and spend less than a couple hundred dollars.

What's worth shelling out for and what isn't? I've heard that chairs are worth it and things like monitors aren't but wanted to get your opinions.

I got two 24" monitors for about $120 each. You can spend a lot on better ones if you want but I was just trying to replicate what I had at the office and didn't want to break the bank. Already had a keyboard, mouse, etc., but that shouldn't be too expensive. A decent desk can be found but if you're WFH full time and going to be so for a while, I recommend a standing desk if you can get it. I found a used one for $250 from a office liquidation sale but I think they retail new for $400-600. Absolute game changer.

Oh and I got a chair on sale from Office Max when this all started for like $130 or something. Chairs can be expensive but the basic one does it for me. So all in $1000. If you're going to be working 40-60 hours at home, you mine as well get something worth using and save your back. At the end of the day, who knows how long this will go for and a portion of us will likely continue to have WFH capabilities for at least a couple days a week moving forward.
