Worst Networking Call You Have Ever Heard

Interested in hearing everyone's story here given that most analysts + associates are likely being blown up with chat requests.

I'll go first.

Some kid hounded me 3-5 times, I finally pick up the phone. Buddy immediately walks himself through his resume and request I do the same. I reject the request and just tell him my name and where I'm from. Then, I get lowkey ripped with off-hand market questions + questions about my personal investments. This is 5 minutes into the call.

After a brief discussion about soybean futures (never eaten a soybean in my life), we quickly move onto the topic of bodybuilding? I maybe work out like 3-4 times a week at best and don't even drink protein shakes anymore...

Regardless, pretty sick that he can bench 255, squat 450, and clean 165.

The call ended pretty quickly after that with a light request to "connect me with someone senior (VP+). Unreal.

For all the sophomores recruiting right now, please just be normal and mildly interesting.. preferably just discuss college life and outside of work stuff.
