Would you ever consider a PhD?
I don't mean for career advancement, rather would you ever consider getting a PhD late in life when you are old just for self enrichment?

I've always been into academia, so a PhD in economics is something I could definitely see myself doing down the road. Right now though, I'm just worried about getting a buy side gig.
The lead singer from Offspring did this. If he can do it after years of drugs, sex, and rock and roll; I don't see why some financier couldn't.
You know you're allowed to learn shit without seeking approval from a bunch of assholes for it.

Yes totally, I think getting a PhD or lecturing (which, sometimes, you need a PhD to do) would be so beneficial to ex-practitioners. Preserves the knowledge, learn new skills & putting it to good use
I've thought about teaching later in life, but not going through the tedious process of getting a PhD. You can be an adjunct professor with a graduate degree and experience.
