Would You Pay $1.5 Million For This Car?
Happy New Year, monkeys! I thought I'd kick the new year off with a little garish excess. You know, 2007 banker-style excess. We discuss wheels quite a bit on this site, and I'm guessing most of you haven't yet seen this monstrosity with the $1.5 million price tag.
It's a Rolls Royce Ghost with a twist: it's been dipped in pure gold. That's right, kids, a rolling homage to bling bling. It was designed by Italian firm Fenice Milano and they call it the "Diva". Don't let the name fool you, though, this whip has balls. 560 horsepower and a top speed of 155 mph, to be exact.
So what do you think? Could you see yourself rolling in this hooptie? Or is all the gold a bit much? When I consider that I can pick up a Murcielago at the Lambo dealer down the street for about a third of the cost, this Rolls is less appealing. But you're not gonna get groceries in the Lambo, so there's that.
All joking aside, what are the baller wheels for young finance turks these days? You guys are probably gonna laugh, but back in the early 90's we all blew our bonus checks on 4x4's (and my boss had a canary yellow Porsche 911 which a former employee eventually keyed the word "FAG" into in big letters).
If you're buying a new car this year, what's it gonna be?
before IP comes in to say it: an early model honda civic with a few thick patches of good solid calvinist rust.
Regards
i want a mercedes e63 AMG so bad it's unreal. I've never seen a car so beautiful.
audi
Were I to buy a supersport, it'd be the Aventador. God, what a beaut.
MB CL63 AMG imo best car ever made to date
but if we are talking in that price range, why not go all custom? maybach coupe http://www.xenatecgroup.com/eng/0407_xenatec-coupe.htm

I guess in that price range I would go for something that has already gone down its depreciation curve, like an Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato (in Racing Green).
No, I would rather have a helicopter.
You guys can have your fancy super cars and AMG mercs, Ill take a BMW M3 coupe any day! Best compromise between performance, practicality, affordability and beauty out there IMO.
M3 just looks like your average 3-series two-door coupe with pimped up grilles, but that's about it. IMO, M3 is a major fail in the looks department and doesn't justify its 65k price tag as long as aesthetics are concerned. Aside from that 'M3' logo on its back, many people won't be able to tell the difference between an M3 and regular 3-series. However, it is a heck of a car performance-wise, though.
aston martin DB4, aventador
get one of those then,, then spend 1 mil or less on a cessna mustang.... i dont understand a car costing 1.5 mil...
this plane is great: http://www.cessna.com/citation/mustang.html

gulfstream or bust
There I fixed it for you.
911 Turbo. Nothing more. Nothing less.
This - the marginal benefits vs. cost of cars more expensive than the 911 should only be weighed by those with obscene amounts of money.
BMW 3 series.
Cost of jet ownership is insane, NetJets or bust.
Buy a Bugatti.
I'm more likely to sell my car this year but if I were buying: BMW M3 or Aston Martin DB9.
1963 Ferrari 250 GTO. A little too far out of my price range, though (last one sold went for $18 million)... someday
RS4...oh wait
SLS AMG aston martin vanquish ferrari f40 911 gt3 rs e30 m3 w/ an e60 m5 V10 swapped in.
In that order. I love cars.
I think I saw Xerxes driving that car.
That thing is atrocious. I'll be the voice of reason and frugality and take a Pagani Zonda.
e60 m5s are ridiculously cheap these days. i'd love to have a murdered out e92 m3 (no tinted taillights) in DCT and an interlagos blue e60 m5 with the 6 speed.
btw, 19 mpg in an m3 is on the higher side. i'd expect to get around 14-16 mpg on average.
I like all those newer models, but I also like the 1962 lincoln convertible.. get that refurbished and just improve some of the interior technology and engine and I think it would look the most classy......
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tjsamericanhotrods.com/i….
or the 1980 aston martin convertible volante http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&cp=11&gs_id=42&xhr=t&q=jaguar+1980+c… What do you all think? it would prolly cost around 30-40k (with the attachments) attachments= nice wheels, nice paint, GPS/nice speakers etc.
I wouldn't pay $1.5MM for any car. Only for a time machine.
What if the time machine was a car?!? #mindjustgotblown
Regards
Murdered out Jeep Wrangler with a 12 inch lift and 36 inch mud tires ....
"bought the jeep, tore the muthafucking doors off, foot out dat bitch ride that shit like a skateboard"
LMAO thats a Jay-Z line... since when is Jay-Z blue collar? and he asked "If you're buying a new car this year, what's it gonna be?" can I afford the Blacked out Aston Martin DBS coupe (my heart so badly desires) on a first year analyst salary... uh i dont think so ahahahaha
Agreed. But you need new suspension and axles to do that. The new 280 hp engine and the Rubicon set-up is nice enough but with a 5.7 Hemi dropped in it would be fearsome.
Ferrari California...Plus Porsche Panamera...Plus Maserati GT
All Preowned.
Pocket the other 1.1 Mil or so
Ferrari Italia or Mercedes 300SL
The new Chrysler 300 looks way better than that thing.
No R34 or R35 love? Not even a Lotus?
