From State School to IBD to MM PE: AMA
Post By @THE PsYcHoLoGy"
I went to a large state school before I spent three years on the sell-side at a top industrial-focused group of a MM firm. Subsequently, I moved to the buy-side at my current MM PE firm. Ask me anything.

Surviving the Office Christmas Party
Post By @Alistair-Clark"
When I was a management consultant, on good years I would have 5-10 Christmas parties to attend. Party after party, I would embrace the season and looked more and more like jolly ol' St. Nick himself by the time January rolled around. I have outlined some strategies below. Pick the one that works for best for you, and enjoy some guilt-free celebration this season!
The Yahoo! Chronicles! Is this the End Game?
Post By @Aswath Damodaran"
The odds of Ms. Mayer succeeding at Yahoo, at least in the ways that many of her strongest supporters defined success, were low right from the beginning. It is hard enough to turn around a company, but it becomes even harder when you are given control of only the rump of the company. The reality is that, on any given day, the value of Yahoo as a company was more influenced by what Jack Ma did that day at Alibaba, than what Ms Mayer did at Yahoo!
Reasons for Rejection
Post By @nani2013"
I am sure that there were some things that I could improve, but I just can not figure it out. If I were answering all the questions wonderfully, what are other reasons that I could be dinged? Or, what are some reasons that can make a candidate stand out above the others? If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.
What websites, newsletters, literature, etc do you read on a daily/weekly basis?
Post By @WestCoastDeveloper"
I am tired of the fluff pieces on real estate where real estate is always going up. Market reports from brokerage firms, articles on Reuters and Forbes, etc are all just mouth pieces for Realtors, Inc. Where are the unbiased, technical newsletters and websites? There is a plethora of sites for equities; there has to be someone out there doing it for real estate! Do you guys have any suggestions?
Personality Type
Post By @Going Concern"
What's your Myers-Briggs personality type? Do you think it's an accurate representation of your personality? Do you think the test has validity?
