Advice for First Job: Credit Analyst (Commercial Credit Administration)
Hi, everyone. This is my first post so pardon me not knowing how things go on here.
I graduated this past May with a degree in econ. I was very fortunate to land a Credit Analyst role last week (commercial credit administration) at a MM firm that starts in January. Before going into this role, I want to put myself in the best position.
In terms of the industry, does Credit Analysis best fit under Asset Management or Corporate Finance? Or does it fit under a completely different industry?
Furthermore, what should I make sure I know going into the job? The company is going to have a month long training program but I want to be sure I know as much as I can going in to make learning new information easier. I figured a 1st year credit analyst is going to be using accounting basics, maybe some modeling, but what specifically do I need to know/what specifically can I learn to best position myself to be successful? I am enrolled in Wall Street Prep courses so I can use that, if it is best. I know they'll teach me what they want me to know but I figured it would be best for me to go ahead and learn as much relevant information as possible .
Thanks.
Hey Goo Lagoon, I swear if I had a silver banana for every lonely thread I posted too I'd be richer than @compbanker ...
