Attn: Students: Cool Beta Test + Help

Guys,

I thought I'd reach out and see if any of you who are current students felt like helping out a cool startup and availing yourself of a cutting edge app when it's released. I have no financial interest in this company, I just think it's a cool idea and they're pitching to investors as we speak (so it would be cool for them to see a spike in sign ups in the next hour). The app is called Jam and it's a virtual assistant for students:

They're associated with a business incubator in Paris that I was close with, so that's how I know about them. Let me know what you think!

Checked out the link my question is what does it actually do? It does look interesting

As long as I am doing better then I am feeling and I do it to prove them wrong.

From their blog, "As a part of “Random University”, you can follow your favorite “Random” associations, receive news and updates from the “Random” administration (e.g. “New RU campus opening in Shanghai”), post about your flat-seeking distress or even sell your old smartphone to another “fellow-randomer”.

Like a few other services such as Pinterest, we use a board interface on which all the posts are gathered. You can also filter down the posts to “students”; “associations” or “admin” to make it easier to track down the next party or whatever you might be looking for."

They also added a chat function, I guess it works like facebook messaging?

With the new overhaul they added: "the categories (housing, internships, associations etc.): if you’re posting, you can tag your post in a category / if you’re looking for something in particular, you can filter content through these categories. Each category has its own feed, and you can follow them.

the up: basically, the idea of the up is to have the best/coolest posts on top of each feed - so when you up a note, it’s going to actually move on the top of the previous note."

And they also have this that some people here might be keen on "Now we have a new program which is really innovative. Basically, in every school where we are introducing Jam, we are offering the opportunity for a small team (between 2 and 5 students) to learn how to create and manage their own “mini start-up” ! To help them achieve the objective we are giving them (converting their campus to Jam), we provide them three things:

support: converting a campus is everything but easy, so we simplified by creating an action plan divided in different steps and goals.

autonomy: Jambassadors teams are given objectives, but they are free to find the accurate way to achieve them…

learning content: we provide plenty of ressources (concepts and theories about entrepreneurship, tips to be more productive and creative, tools and working methods)"
