Big 4 - CFA®

Do the Big 4 firms (esp their financial advisory units) pay or chip in for their analysts to take or pass the CFA® Exams?

I.e. do they have incentive programs in place similar to those for the CPA license?

TIA

MittRomneyfor their valuation departments they will reimburse you - no incentive program though with bonuses at the big 4 i am familiar with

The reimbursement is contingent upon your passing?

I think they will pay for your Schweser materials, and will reimburse your CFA registration fee once you pass your level. However, I don't think they give out bonuses for passing (in the case of CPA).

I also think you pretty much have to have the CPA to get promoted in all areas of Advisory, with the exception of Valuation. Correct me if I'm wrong.

My practice group paid with no contingency, though they would only pay for a given level once. Also, other practice areas in the firm that didn't feel the CFA was relevant did not pay for it.

TobleroneUltimately the partners? HR? Does it matter?

Not really ... was just curious who determines that the CFA charter is "not relevant" for a particular function - the partners in charge or some other entity.
