Big 4 Post Internship

I am currently working for a Big 4 firm as an intern in M&A Transaction Services. I was curious to hear responses on what to expect after my internship. For instance, will I receive a job offer? Will it be in M&A? If I don't what advice could you give me for future career moves. Thanks.

If you show up on time, don't complain, at least attempt to learn, and don't mess stuff up royally, you will probably get an offer. I have never heard of someone getting an offer that isn't in the group they were working in. Now if you want to go to another group and they really like you and want to keep you with the firm, it might be possible, but you'd probably have to want it. I would think the offer would be for the group you're working in now most likely.

If you don't get an offer, then leverage your experience to get a full time offer somewhere else in the fall. If you're still in school, try to interview for a summer internship somewhere else. It's that simple. Think about it like this- you're better off with the experience under your belt even if you don't get an offer. So even though you will most likely still feel bad about not getting an offer, you're still in a better position than no internship at all. You can always say you are looking for other opportunities because it wasn't a good fit for all parties involved.

When is your exit meeting?

Thanks guys. There was only one day where I was an hr late to work but otherwise i have been performing well in my opinion. Is there anything I can do to inquire more about if I will get an offer?

Unless you had a meeting or something due by a certain time and failed to deliver, don't sweat it. Hopefully you just strolled in and didn't make a big deal about it. Have you had performance reviews or anything yet?
