Corporate strat/dev in media/entertainment industry
Does anyone have information on corporate strat at big media and entertainment companies such as NBC, HBO, lionsgate, etc.? Looking for comp, whether entry level recruitment exists, backgrounds of people in these areas, general information, etc.
Comcast = NBC, and they have an active corp dev group plus a VC group. Look at LinkedIn for profiles of team members.
Good stuff. Any idea on their salaries?
Try looking at Glassdoor. I have no idea about entry level comp, but I'm sure that it's solid.
I've interviewed (but dinged) by multiple media corporate strategy groups. Post-banking $75k-$85k with about 10% bonus. Typically 2 years then you're expected to get MBA. Everywhere I interviewed (4 positions in all) were looking at bankers and consultants mostly. Hope this helps
Legacy Media Corporate Strategy pay isn’t great (I used to work in a Corp Strat team at one of the companies mentioned above). Pay levels mentioned above is accurate, though on the higher end an Associate / Senior Analyst might make $100 to $130 all in.
Tech Media - Amazon, Apple, Netflix - pay much better with Netflix having the best comp. Apple is at $150, Amazon I think in the same range ($150 to $170) and Netflix is variable based on experience but generally I’ve seen ~$200. I know as I’ve either recruited at or gotten an offer at each of these 3
