HAS ANY COMMERCIAL BANKER (relationship manager) EVER GONE FROM A COMMUNITY BANK TO A SUPER REGIONAL OR BB?

If so - what was the differences? Were you able to bring a lot of your clients with you or did they not fit the scope of the new bank?

I am currently at a $3.3B bank - 99% of my clients on the C&I and Ag side are in the $1-$50MM range in revenue. We also do a ton of Investor CRE - and those deals are typically in the $1-$20MM credit range. For sure none of my C&I clients would not fit the mold of corporate banking - however a few would be in the hit range for middle market. Also, does Investor CRE get siphoned out to another group or can you still do those deals (all deals) in a mid market group? I was trained to be more of a generalist and would hate to go into a specialized group or a C&I only group cause I would lose a lot of my clients.

Just wanted to see if there are any community bankers out there who made the change to a large Bank and what their experiences were - both positive and negative.

With what is going on these days, wouldn't be surprised if my Bank sells in the next 5 years. Need to start thinking about what my next play is going to be.
