Help with situation: MBA vs Masters of Computer Science
Currently a Finance major w/ value investments concentration & computer science minor.
Been grinding CS and been loving it.
My plan is to grind in CS while working for an ER firm/Hedge fund business (1-2 years). Then get my MBA or a Masters of Comp Sci. at an IVY, preferably columbia.
From there I can work in the hedge fund business for 1-2 years; Tech focused long/short HF, while creating some sort of tech. on the side. In my mid 20s I can transition into Software Engineering if I wanted to as well. Atm, I own a blockchain Investments company +120% return in 2 months, and hope to be a manager and developer for the firm depending on where it goes (we have 2 developers atm.)
I need a masters/Masters of Computer Science because not only will it make me look reputable, but also because my family were literally immigrant farmers, and I want to take my family's reputation to the next level.

MBA vs MS in Comp Sci (Originally Posted: 02/27/2018)
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I should go to business school or do a masters in computer science. I am a finance major with a comp sci minor, and a value investments concentration.
My plan was to work in equity research/hedgefund biz. or as a software engineer. I was planning on getting my MS in comp sci. because in the future, I want the skillset of have technological knowledge; I believe it is imperative for a tech CEO to have a strong background in tech. if he/she wants to be in the field. I was thinking maybe I can learn more C++, JAVA, on my own time while being a software engineer or hedge fund analyst.
I will be pretty proficient with C++ by the end of Uni. Will have taken Machine Learning, Algorithms, Data Structures, Beg. and Intermediate C++;

MBA or MS Computer Science to become a trader (Originally Posted: 08/19/2009)
I would like to get into trading for either a BB or prop trading company.
I graduated from UCLA with a degree in English but took a lot of Computer Science courses allowing me to get accepted to a Masters program in CS. I also did quite well on the GMAT (750) and debating whether the MBA route or MSCS would be more of an advantage. I would also be open to getting my CFA in addition to either degree to improve my marketability.
Over the past 4 years I have been straddling the software development and marketing aspects of a startup software company which has done fairly well. My passion has always been the markets and I've been trading my own money since my junior year with modest success.
