Question - forgive my ignorance
Forgive my ignorance, as I'm currently an undergrad science major whose having a change of heart as far as careers go. IB is not my only option, I just want a career where I can work up to a six figure income within a few years (gotta pay back student loans somehow). For someone who attends a fairly reputable state school (University of Pittsburgh, maybe ;) ), is it worth getting a degree in finance from the B school? Only reason I ask is because I've heard that getting a degree from the B school is pointless and I'd be much better off getting a degree like economics or math.
I think your best call would be to stick with the math major if you enjoy it. That keeps your options open and will get you more respect in recruiting since math is considered a "rigorous" major.
I'm from a non-target myself, and I've found that a finance degree is only really useful when coming from a good program.
Good luck!
