UMass Isenberg vs Bentley University
Sup, so I am trying to choose between Bentley University or UMass Isenberg. I got money from both colleges btw. I also got wait listed at NYU CAS and Babson college. I am VERY new to this so i was wondering which one of these is the best deal or the best way I could possibly make it onto the street (or a good company in Boston). I know these are "non-target" schools. Money for me fortunately is not a big deal.

They're both non targets....both offering, in my opinion, the same opportunities in corporate finance/accounting. A lot of northeast FLDPS when you superday at, will have lots of both Isenberg grads and Bentley grads. Both will be an uphill battle for IB, especially BB.
Isenberg is definitely a better value for the price but as you mention, that seems to be irrelevant.
Are you targeting banking? Bentley may give you a better shot at picking up an internship at a Boston boutique bank but for example if you have interest in markets, I know Citi's Markets group recruits on campus at Isenberg. I've always felt that Bentley was an extremely overrated school for the price tag and the lack of social scene.
Thanks for the input. I am also planning to do MBA five years after I graduate undergrad (if I'm working) so does the undergrad matter if I'm applying to top 15-20 MBA?
Your Job is going to determine your MBA more than the school. BUT your school will determine your job....they're both not ideal schools, both of these places might place single digit kids into IB across BB, MM and EB.

I know both schools very well, with friends at both. Doesn't matter which one you pick because they are both in the same tier. Bentley has better career services, Umass is closer to NY. The decision comes down to whether you want Bentley girls in your bed at night or Umass girls in your bed at night.
The decision should now be very obvious.

Not really. What would give you a boost for a top MBA is if you essentially became the "poster boy" of Bentley or Umass. i.e, student body president, finance association president, etc. Be the big fish and it will outweigh the non-gold plated undergrad. Also, read up on PoetsandQuants.

Assuming this isn't too late, if I were you I'd go to UMass, kill it, then try to transfer after a year to a target. I went to UMass and as much as I loved it, it didn't help me break into banking at all. Employers use schools as a signal and it will be a struggle to break into banking.
Hi I chose bentley but to be honest, banking isn't my choice of career. I visited both umass and bentley and happen to like the people at Bentley much better. Since they are both in the same tier, environment is where I looked at closely.
Hey so I was a recent student at Bentley and I am transferring to Fordham. I HATED Bentley with a passion. It was the worst experience ever and a waste of two years. I am doing Investment Banking at a bulge bracket bank in New York City now. But Bentley truly was awful.
